Unpunished by Lisa Black (Gardiner and Renner #2) Thank you to Kensington and Netgalley for a copy of the eArc in exchange for a fair review. I will say that I recommend to start with Book 1, this will contain spoilers if you haven't read the first book in the series. Jack and Maggie are back, Unpunished picks shortly after book 1 ends. Jack and his partner are investigating a Ronald Schultz who is a gangster who is constantly upgrading his crime level. This time they have caught him with attempted murder, and Jack is thinking about how he would just like to kill him. However, before they get too involved in that they are called out to a suicide, but when Maggie shows they are all shocked to find that it isn't a suicide but a murder. Ronald Davis is the copy editor at the local paper. As they try to figure out what happened, another newspaper person is murdered, and as the bodies continue to mount up. Will Maggie and Jack be able to catch a killer before it's too

Review of Nest by Terry Goodkind

Image
Nest by Terry Goodkind I received a copy of this book from the Skyhorse Publishing in exchange for a fair review. I don't even know where to start, this book hit the ground running. We first met John who has the devil chained in his basement, which is a pretty good indication that something crazy is going on. Soon it becomes clear that John isn't all that bad and he is confused about what to do with the devil in his basement, his sister Katie calls and that is when John realizes the devil isn't chained-up anymore. Katie rushes over to her brother's house only to find detectives already on the scene. John has been murdered and he has been keeping someone chained up in the basement. Katie soon finds out from Det. Janek that John has been helping her find killers. He can see it in their eyes that they are bad. She even shows Katie a couple of photographs and they soon realize that Katie has the ability as well. Det. Janek tells Kate about an author Jack Raines, a

Review of Relic by Renee Collins

Relic by Renee Collins Thank you to Entangled Teen and Netgalley for a copy of this in exchange for a fair review. This has been on my TBR for quite some time, mostly because umm I love the cover so honestly when I was given a chance to review it for Entangled I jumped onboard with zero hesitation. Maggie and her siblings notice a fire in the town, and their parents just so happen to be at the town. So she makes the choice for them to run, however as the fire spreads they find themselves trapped until Maggie notices an Apache watching them. She recognizes him for her time at school and he helps them escape except her brother is not able to get rescued. After staying at her old school for awhile Maggie goes to the town of Burning Mesa to find a job, she runs into an important man trying to escape the clutches of a rather nasty man and he offers her a job at the local saloon. Soon she makes friends with Adelaide and starts falling for a rather handsome cowboy named Landon. Bu

Review of Teen Hyde by Chandler Baker

Image
Teen Hyde by Chandler Baker Thanks to Fiewel & Friends and Netgalley for a copy of the eARC in exchange for a fair review. Disclaimer: This is book 2 in the High School Horror series, well it's not completely needed to understand events and references are made to Teen Frankenstein book 1. Cassidy Hyde isn't dealing with things all that well. Since Adam cheated on her with a nobody and was killed the night she was crowned Homecoming Queen things have been hard. She just can't shake the sadness so she agrees to go to the party even though she isn't really feeling it. While she on the verge of having a Britney Spears moment, Liam bursts into the bathroom and before he leaves he offers her this little pill called Sunshine. When Cassidy wakes up in the morning she feels great despite the fact that she can't remember anything passed dancing with Liam. Maybe a little memory loss is okay to feel better in the end. As as the days go by, Cassidy becomes more and

You Don't Know My Name by Kristen Orlando Thank you to Swoon Reads and Netgalley for a copy of the eARC in exchange for a fair review. Whew where to start... Reagan is the daughter of two Black Angel operatives. They have raised her to be one of them. So after grabbing their go bags they flee into the night.  They end up in New Albany, Ohio and stay for over a year where Reagan makes real friends and even has a boy (sort of) they are RGF (real good friends). She evens begins to question whether this life is for her. But when a mission goes bad and a girl that looks like her is taken. Reagan has to decide to if this is the life for her and can she save her parents? I loved every minute of this book. I started it and couldn't stop it and when it was done I wanted more. Reagan is a total badass, I for real lov

New Year, New Pages, New Ideas!

Happy 2017 everyone!! No matter what country you're visiting our page from I think we can all agree that last year was rough. We in the States are letting out a huge sigh of relief that it's over. We're also simultaneously holding our breath to see what the new President does in the upcoming year..or four years. I hope you all enjoyed your Holiday breaks and are ready to get this new year started! We have some exciting new books coming out this year and hopefully some more great interviews with authors as well as giveaways!! We do love giving things away around here. Toward the end of last year we asked our followers on Facebook to give us some ideas of things they'd like to see here on the blog. The response was pretty amazing and we got really excited reading them. One recurring request was that we bring back the "Littlest Reviewers" spots that we usually only run during the summer. I've spoken with some of the parents of those little readers and the
