Bridey wasn't afraid of the sea until it took her Grandda all those years ago, but lately she is wondering if the stories are true. People are disappearing. Her mam has apprenticed her to the local witch. One day down at the beach, Bridey finds a young man washed ashore. She brings him home for her mam to heal him. She shares her fears with the witch, and only the witch and the young man she calls Fynn believe her when she says something in the sea is taking all of these people. As more people disappear, Bridey knows that she must face her fear and take to the water, before everyone she loves is taken by the sea.
