Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout My rating: 4 of 5 stars I promised you all I was going to get to this series and I always deliver on my promises. I had to really think this series through on how to proceed for a review. Today I’m going to give you a synopsis of the overall series. Tomorrow I’ll give you a character profile of each one in the series and a review of the first two books. I’ll bring in some of my favorite character quotes from the series throughout the week and put up some mood boards for my visual mutuals. Let me take you on one of the wildest rides I’ve ever experienced in a book series EVER! It’s a roller coaster of emotions, cliffhangers that should be classified as manslaughter, plot twists that will keep you up at night, and villains...oh the villains!!! All wrapped up in some very yummy with a capital Y alien hotness. Yes..I said ALIEN hotness. For love of alien babies Daemon Black makes us all happy that E.T. didn’t phone home! This is not your typical

I won a copy of this in Goodreads Giveaway. Thank you to Lake Union Publishing and Goodreads. Jane is back and just as chilling as ever, she is working a fixing a work problem. When she gets a call from one of her brother's ex-wives. His daughter is missing, and Jane wonders why that is her problem, but when Joylene tells her that Kayla is just like her, Jane is immediately intrigued. She makes the decision to return home to find Kayla. As her search begins we learn more about Kayla and more about what made Jane the way she is... So much happened in this book that as much as I hate I am going to keep the recap small because otherwise I might spoil things. I would say that if you haven't read the first book please stop and go read that first otherwise you will be lost. I wasn't sure if I would like this one, but as I continued to read Jane drew me back in.. I really didn't enjoy but found myself unable to stop reading the backstory revealed by Jane about the ma

Half-Blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout My rating: 5 of 5 stars Alexandria “Alex” Andros: She’s the Half Mortal and Half Pure a.k.a. The next Apollyon that everyone loves. She’s always salty, she holds a grudge like a champ, and she’s got the mouth of a sailor on shore leave. Alex holds her bigger than life personality together with trash talk and serious bravery. Alex will make you laugh, cringe, and cry and by the end of the series you’ll be her biggest fan too. “No. I do believe in them. I just think they’re absentee landlords. Right now, they’re probably hanging out somewhere in Las Vegas, screwing showgirls and cheating at poker.” ― Alex-Half-Blood Covenant Series book 1 Aiden St. Delphi: He’s yummy with a capital Y. This Sentinel is 100% Pure...blood that it is. Aiden comes to Alex’s rescue in Atlanta and he’s just such a SAINT. A yummy, yummy, good guy saint. “ALEX: “How come you smile when you knock me down?” AIDEN: “It’s the little things that make me happy.” ― Jennifer L. Arm

From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout

There is very little I love more than a fantasy novel with a seriously kick ass heroine and From Ash and Blood completely delivers! Jennifer L. Armentrouts newest book is a fantasy story that has so many plot twists and turns you’ll need to read it at least twice before really feeling like you READ IT! That’s right it’s a novel that tricks you into reading it more than once and you won’t be mad about it. I’ve now read this book a total of four times just so I could write this review and I’m already contemplating reading it a fifth time. First let me tell you about the characters. One thing that J. L. Armentrout does so well is draw the reader in and make us care, genuinely care about her characters and in this new book you’re going to want to grab Poppy and run away with her! Maybe pick up Hawke and Tawny as well. Poppy is short for Penellaphe—She’s the “Maiden” and if that sounds totally cultish and Manson Family-ish then you are completely right. Poppy is more than a shroud
