Suicide House by Charlie Donlea

I won a copy of this book in a Goodreads Giveaway. Thank you to Goodreads and Kensington Books for the book.

This is the second book in the Rory Moore and Lane Phillips series, please read Some Choose Darkness before reading this one. (Although I will say if you don't you won't necessarily be confused)

Lane is invited in an investigation of two murders followed by 2 suicides and 1 attempted suicide. The podcaster had been called by Theo who later committed suicide just as he was about to reveal some unknown piece of the puzzle. Something about that night that the survivors never told anyone. Before he heads down he fills Rory in on the story and she says no, but later after a trip she decides that she can't get that case out of her head.

As she arrives in Peppermill Indiana she can't find Lane, until she looks up his phone on find my friends. When she arrives to the location she find the cottage in flames and just barely gets Lane out in time. She is unable to save the podcaster. Shortly after Lane is discharged from the hospital they are visited by the detective investigating the fire. It turns out he also investigated the murders that happened the previous year. He doesn't think the case is as wrapped as they think it is.

I have read every book by this author and I have to say that I haven't been disappointed yet. They always pull me in and keep me reading. I couldn't put this down. It seems a little far fetched at times, but it didn't stop me from enjoying it. I was thrown off and only sort of guess correctly. Well to be fair I had two I thought it could be and when certain information was revealed one of my guesses was correct. I can't wait to see where the author takes these two next. I love them and I love the way their minds work.
