Kicking off February with a bang!!!

Missing Pieces By Heather Gudenkauf

Thank you to Netgalley for a copy of the Arc.

Where to start, I started reading Heather Gudenkauf almost by accident. A friend of mine was talking about The Weight of Silence and I was intrigued, so I read it and liked it. Then I joined this book club on Goodreads and decided to catch up on past reads so I picked up Little Mercies and was blown away, and then I read One Breath Away, and well you see where this is going. I have read all but one of her past books, so when I saw this on Netgalley I had to request it.

Jack and Sarah are returning to Penny Gate after his Aunt Julia fell down the stairs. Sarah believes a lot of things about Jack's past, but within days begins to find out there are a lot of things he hasn't told her, including what really happened to his mother and father, and that he lied to her about pretty much everything.

Sarah begins to wonder what else her husband is hiding from her and begins to investigate his mother's murder with a vengeance, and as things begin to happen to her and the people around her she begins to wonder if she will make it out alive.

Talk about being a master at away to distract and misdirect. I guessed about ten times in this book as to what and who was behind everything. I was wrong every single time. I didn't guess who it really was until it was literally staring me in the face. I was completely shocked.  Sigh, I literally couldn't put down the book. I started dinner late and every chance I got while cooking I read some more because I was so close to the end and I had to freaking know it was driving me crazy.

In the end I just have to say that my love for Heather Gundenkauf book's is cemented. They are must reads, sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes on the edge of the seat, but never disappointing. She is moving to my automatic buy list!

And while this isn't quite in keeping with the theme of love, well more like happily ever after, this is a book full of love, some good and some dark and twisted.
