Her brows slammed together. No one expressed affront like my sunshine. “What do you mean what’s in it for you? Same thing that’s in it for me. Sex. Lots of hot, adventurous sex.”

“Hate to break it to you, sweetheart, but I can get that anywhere.”

Her eyes went round and wounded.

I lifted her chin to make her look at me. “Not saying that to hurt you.” Never to hurt her. To make it right, I was willing to lay a bit of myself on the line. “Look, you’re asking me to be in your bed without giving me what I really want, which is a girlfriend I can take out and spoil and show off to everybody. Instead, you want to keep me a secret. If I’m gonna go along with this, I want something in return.”

Her slender throat moved with a swallow. “What do you want in return?”

“You wanna live out your fantasies with me? I want the same deal. I get to live mine out with you.”

She blinked, like the idea of me having fantasies surprised her.

“We got a deal?” I asked before she could think too hard and long about it. “I mean, it’s only fair, right?”

She narrowed her eyes. “Depends on what your fantasies are like.”
