I went kind of back and forth on this one. I really couldn't decide if Elise was riding the crazy train or we were supposed to think that because of all the other stuff going on. Normally I would tell you about the book and what is going on, but as much as I loved the cover and the synopsis this didn't go for me like I wanted it too. The atmosphere was great, the setting was amazing, the background good. But even though the chapters told me who was telling the story at that point. The back and forth between present and past and different characters completely threw me off. By the time a twist was revealed I wasn't that invested in this story. For me this had a ton of potential but failed to follow through. I think a lot of readers will love this, but I didn't find this such a gothic mystery more like a futuristic sort of mystery that really didn't deliver all that well. I really couldn't follow the story and to be honest it held me in some chapters and I could barely remember what I read in others. I really hate to sound like I am tearing the book ...
